Fox air ejectors are widely used to prime pumps. Pump start-up can be a slow and tedious process, involving either a five-gallon bucket of water or an expensive, self-priming pump.
A Fox air ejector, driven with compressed air at 60 – 100 psig, can prime any type of pump and associated suction hose and pipe – without having to pour water into the pump housing. The ejector suction port is piped to the highest point of the pump housing and creates sufficient vacuum to both evacuate the air from the pump housing and draw liquid up into the pump. Suction lifts of 27-28 feet are possible.
Fox stocks all of our pump priming ejectors, in a range of sizes and materials:
- Carbon Steel
- 316 Stainless Steel
- Monel – For Seawater Service
However, any material can be specified. Standard stock sizes are shown in the chart at right
Fox is happy to work with pump manufacturers (OEM’s) or pump suppliers to create whatever optimized pump- priming ejectors are best for installation in your systems. These can have any end connections (ANSI flanges, BSP threads, metric tubing, DIN flanges, Naval flanges) or whatever material is required. Once performance of a prototype has been verified, pricing of an optimized, customized pump-priming ejector will differ little from stock ejectors.
