Fox has manufactured Fox Venturi Ejectors to mix and blend gasses in hundreds of different applications. Below are just a few examples of Typical Applications.
Creating Gas Mixtures as Industrial Products
- Hydrocarbon Gas Blending – Fox ejectors are be used to blend hydrocarbon fuels for the precise BTU value needed.
- Food Gas Mixtures – Nitrogen, oxygen and carbon dioxide, gas mixtures to reduce microbial growth, delay spoilage etc.
- Medical Gasses – Combining high purity gasses for medical and biotechnology applications
- Specialty Gasses – Combining such as 5% methane in argon; 40% hydrogen in nitrogen
Safety – Diluting Explosive Gasses
Adding sweep gas, an unreactive gas such as nitrogen or argon to dilute the explosive gas before coming in contact with air – to achieve a target Lower flammability limit (LFL or LEL): The lowest concentration of a gas or a vapor in air capable of producing a flash of fire.
Dilution – Cooling Hot Exhaust Gas
Fox ejectors are often used with hot combustion exhaust gasses (up to 1800° F) from rocket engines, aircraft or turbine engines and other power plants – to suck in free air to exhaust a mixed gas outflow at an intermediate, or cooler gas temperature.
Accurate Secondary Gas Flow Control for Precise Gas Mixing with Sonic Choke
In the below configuration, the Motive Flow Rate is set and controlled with accuracy better than ±1% by the critical flow nozzle machined into the ejector’s motive nozzle. The Suectio Flow Rate is established by a Fox sonic choke, which is custom-manufactured based on the user’s performance requirement.
