Blend Solids into Liquids with No Moving Parts To Mix, Blend or Dissolve Powders or Pellets to Create Solutions or Slurries
Liquid-driven venturi jet eductors are used to mix solids into liquids. Powders or pellets can be introduced from:
- Bag Dump or Big Bag Feed to Eductor
- Screw Feeder – for accurate dosing to create required solution
- Vacuum Pick-Up – to suck up powders from totes or drums
Fox Solids-Mixing Slurry Eductors are available in 1-1/2″ – 16″ line sizes. Off-the-shelf eductors up to 3 inch, in PVC and 316SS, can ship in 1-2 weeks.
With no moving parts, Fox Slurry eductors are used in dozens of industries. They are widely used in water treatment plants to convey filter media, in food and pharma plants to create brines and beverages, and dozens of other industrial applications. See common applications listed below.
Common Applications of Liquid Powder Mixing Venturi Eductors include:
- Polymer, Resin, Flocculant to Water Treatment Tanks
- New and Spent Filter Media to WTP (anthracite, sand, ion exchange resin)
- Salt mixed into water to make brines
- Sugar, Milk Powders, Whey into beverages
- Graphite mixed with mineral spirits for lubricants
- Carbopol, guar gum, and emulsifiers into shampoos and lotions
- Calcium Citrate into Orange Juice
- Guar, bentonite, proppants to creating drilling fluids
When mixing or blending hard-to-wet powders used as thickeners in emulsions and suspensions, Fox Co-Axial Slurry Eductors are used. These mixing eductors provide almost instantaneous hydration of polymers and gums, and avoid clumps and “fish-eyes’ when discharging to a mix tank. Fox Co-Axial Slurry Eductors are widely used s Carbopol, guar gum and carrageenan. Some of the largest manufacturers of personal care products, such as like shampoos, lotions and creams, have used Fox powder mixing eductors to blend emulsifiers and thickeners into their liquid products without having to wait for a long mixing cycle.

- Slurry pick-up eductor ships to Prudhoe Bay Alaska. To suck desiccant from a barrel and convey to air dryer vessels
Prudhoe Bay Alaska is not a good place to install equipment that needs frequent maintenance. Fox slurry eductors are used to suck desiccant powder up from barrels and convey with water to air dryers. With no moving parts, they are expected to operate reliably for many years.
- Slurry eductor conveys fish pellets 100 m …. sprays out to feed Scandinavian salmon
This aquaculture company in Scandinavia started by testing a Fox 4” PVC eductor under a bag dump station – shipped in a week. Feed pellets were manually dumped into a hopper above the eductor. Using seawater at 4 barg/60 psig – the eductor conveyed the fish pellets through 50 – 100 m of 4 inch hose – then sprayed out across the surface of netted salmon pens. The customer is now installing 4” and 2” stainless steel slurry eductors in multiple permanent installations.
