Sand and clays are widely conveyed using Fox venturi eductors. These bulk solids can be very fine, abrasive powders that can cause severe blowback and rapid failure with rotary valves, but can be conveyed reliably with air using venturi eductors with no fugitive dust, no blowback, and little or no maintenance. Kaolin and bentonite clays have been pneumatically conveyed with Fox eductors at mines and end users since the 1980s.

Fox eductors convey sand globally in many industrial applications, including fracking sand (a proppant sent downwell at drilling sites) and in glass, tile, and ceramic manufacturing, Quartz sand, silica sand, and foundry sand can be conveyed with eductors at temperatures up to 1600° F. Fox tool-steel lined eductors are used to convey abrasive sands that contain magnetite, zircon or basalt.
