Fox recently supplied sand & mud eductor to an environmental remediation contractor. This sand and mud venturi jet pump was dropped down through 25 ft of six inch ID pipe to suck up contaminated sludge and mud at the bottom of a well. Both the motive water line, which drives the eductor, and the eductor discharge pipe, which sends the sludge to the surface, slipped though the 6 inch pipe dropleg. Most importantly, the bottom of the eductor is equipped with downward directed jets that stir up and fluidize the sand and sludge that must be sucked into the eductor and sent to the surface for disposal. A similar installation made at the Playas Hydroelectric Plant in Antioquia Colombia operates so successfully that Fox is now discussing similar eductors for another project in Colombia.
