Alternative fuels and biomass are pneumatically conveyed with 24/7 reliability at hundreds of power and cogen plants, cement kilns , and waste-to-energy plants using Fox venturi eductors. Fox eductors convey a broad range of alternative fuels and are installed where highly reliable pneumatic conveying is mandatory. Agricultural waste fuels conveyed with eductors includes rice husks, crushed cotton seeds, corn cobs, wood trim and sawdust, coffee bean husks, and ground nut shells. Venturi eductors are particularly useful to eliminate rotary airlocks when conveying oddly shaped municipal or industrial waste (RDF: refuse-derived fuel) such as dried sewage sludge, used oil filters, shredded paper and plastic, chopped tires (TDF), ground carpets, etc. Rotary airlocks are a maintenance problem when used with abrasive or flaky materials like peanut shells or rice husks, which have a high silica content. With no moving parts and no shafts, bearings or seals to fail, Fox venturi eductors have delivered twenty or more years of maintenance-free pneumatic conveying in some waste-to-energy and cement plants. They are currently operating globally at plants from China to Canada to Italy.
