Fox venturi eductors are widely used to pneumatically convey highly abrasive minerals, ores, and abrasive dust, such as perlite, bauxite, gold ore, nickel, and copper. These applications are very problematic with rotary valves, since blowback is inevitable, but not with eductors. There is no fugitive dust in venturi-eductor-fed dilute phase conveying systems, which is important at mines that need to reduce fugitive dust emissions.

Because Fox eductors are machined from bar, they are rugged, heavy-duty, heavy-walled equipment ideally suited for tough mining, smelting and metal-processing environments. They are especially useful with high-temperature metal powders, sand and minerals discharging from calciners, kilns, reactors, multiclones, and dust collectors. They are also widely used with very extremely light but very abrasive materials like expanded perlite and vermiculite.

When long service life is required, Fox ceramic-lined or tool-steel-lined eductors are used, and are in stock in line sizes from one to eight inches (25 mm – 200 mm), which can ship in a week or less. Much larger sizes are also available. Hundreds of Fox eductors are installed conveying highly abrasive materials such as alumina, fly ash, bentonite, cement, mica and quartz dust, fracking sand, glass frit, etc.
