What are Fox Gas Jet Ejectors?

Fox Gas Jet Ejectors are air or gas-driven venturi jet devices that use the energy in compressed air or other gas to create a vacuum that can entrain or mix another gas stream. Standardized, off-the-shelf Fox ejectors can be hooked up to existing plant air supplies to accomplish important evacuating, pumping, aeration, and vacuum tasks. Shipment can usually be made in just a few days.

No Moving Parts
Fox Gas Jet ejectors have no moving parts. No seals, no shafts, no packing, no maintenance - a distinct advantage over mechanical vacuum pumps which often require elaborate maintenance programs. Their rugged construction and simplicity of designs enables their reliable, maintenance-free use with caustics, high temperatures, etc.

For Handling Corrosive, Explosive, Toxic, or Dust-Laden Gasses
An ejector eliminates the need for any XP motors that may be near explosive gasses. For toxic applications, Fox ejectors can be supplied in an all-welded style that eliminates seals gaskets, and any chance of leakage. The cost of customized Fox Gas jets, in exotic materials, is a fraction of comparable pumps, with all wetted parts of corrosion resistant alloys.

Pumping Liquids with Gas
Pumping liquids with air, nitrogen, or any gas other than steam is not possible with Fox ejectors.

Cost Effective
Initial cost for a gas ejector is low compared to a mechanical pump, without even considering motor-starter costs. The cost difference is even greater if a high alloy material is required for handling a corrosive vapor. For temporary or intermittent service, an ejector is a fraction of the cost of any mechanical alternative.

Reliability
Once the motive pressure has been set, ejector performance is effectively fixed for a range of operating conditions. The ejector can be shutdown and restarted without having to be adjusted. "Fit it and forget it".

Easy Installation
Fox gas ejectors have only three connections (motive, suction discharge, see Fig 1) which makes installation extremely easy. No motor starter, no electrical work. Stock units are generally available with NPT ends, although custom built versions can be supplied with any form of end connection, including flanged, butt-weld, VCR, sanitary ferrules, etc.

  • If you are looking to pump liquids directly using compressed air, unfortunately a gas ejector cannot work in this application
