Fox Venturi Ejectors for Hydrogen, Steam, Methane Service in Fuel Cells

Fox ejectors can be designed to use motive hydrogen, steam, air, or any other gas to compress the ‘suction’ gas flow to a higher pressure.

Fox venturi ejectors have been used in fuel cells since 1985. As a supplier of hydrogen flow control venturies for rocket engines since the 1960’s, it has always made perfect sense for fuel cell producers to utilize Fox’s expertise to develop the unique venturi products required for fuel cell commercialization.

Our in-house manufacturing capability, coupled with our responsive engineering team, enables Fox to design, build, and ship prototype, research, and development equipment. Production hardware can then be manufactured by Fox Valve or, if the venturi hardware must be bundled with flow controls, through our partnerships with other manufacturers.

Fox Venturi Ejectors and Fuel Cells

Fox Valve has now provided venturi ejectors for research, prototypes, or production fuel cells for many different manufacturers in five countries. These have been used in a variety of different applications which our confidentiality agreements prevent us from describing.

  • Performance: Our powerful, proprietary computer models can predict,with good accuracy, the ability of a given motive flow of H2, steam, air, methane or other gas to entrain and compress a secondary gas stream. This preliminary analysis can usually be provided to you within 1- 2 days of receiving your technical specifications. Please note that the performance of extremely tiny units with hydrogen requires lab verification by the user.
  • Materials and End Connections: Fox can provide ejectors in any machinable metal; stainless, titanium, etc. and can provide any required end connection: butt weld, flareless tube, O-ring face seal, metric straight or pipe threads, NPT, flanged, etc.
  • Delivery: With engineering and manufacturing located under one roof, Fox often makes expedited/rush deliveries available for urgent development or production requirements.
  • Size and Weight: Fox can supply hydrogen, steam, or air ejectors in line sizes from 1/8” - 16” ( 3 mm to 400 mm). We understand the requirements to make ejectors as small and compact as possible.
